I purchased 3 different commentaries of the Narada Bhakti Sutras. However, this comentary by Swami Prabhupad stands out as the most enlightening for me. The other two started out quite nicely but eventually they let "non-dual" opinions sneak in - as soon as I felt this happening I could not read any further. The Vaishnava view is rich with very deep & illuminating instruction if you open yourself to it.

Good book to understand the basics of DevotionGood book to understand the basics of DevotionGood book to understand the basics of Devotion

Excellent and most authentic explanations based on the writings of the great Vaishnava teacher Srila Prabhupada, Founder Acharya of ISKCON. I read this book regularly to help me concentrate on chanting the holy names of God.

Amazon.com Review

An Amazon Best Book of February 2018: Freshwater is a mesmerizing and poetic novel that cracks open notions of self-control, mental illness, and love. With every passing page, I felt myself submerge into the complex depths of Ada’s identity letting the waves of Igbo lore infiltrate my understanding of the world and completely change my perception of a person’s agency. The novel is narrated by the ogbange, “godly parasites with many heads,” that reside within “the marble room” of Ada, a Nigerian woman who has moved to North Carolina to attend college. As she enters adulthood, the gods take over and she is powerless to their demands. Though they have protected and comforted her, they also make her rage, inflict violence and destroy relationships with the ones she loves. It’s a devastatingly clear yet spiritual portrait of a life guided by a fractured self and what happens when your body is merely a vessel to the nefarious demons inside. A startling, beautifully written debut. --Al Woodworth

Freshwater recounts the ‘litany of madness’ suffered by Ada in a serpentine prose that proceeds by oblique, hypnotizing movements before it sinks its fangs into you . . . As striking and mysterious as the ways of the gods who narrate it . . . The latest standout in this exciting boom in the Nigerian novel.”―Sam Sacks, Wall Street Journal “The novel is based in many of the realities of the writer’s life, but the prose is infused with imaginative lyricism and tone . . . The journey undertaken in the novel is swirling and vivid, vicious and painful, and rendered by Emezi in [sharp and glittering] shards . . . Emezi’s lyrical writing, her alliterative and symmetrical prose, explores the deep questions of otherness, of a single heart and soul hovering between, the gates open, fighting for peace.”―Susan Straight, Los Angeles Times “A startling debut novel explores the freedom of being multiple . . . Igbo spirituality, Emezi radically suggests, has as much to offer as any [Western] schemas when it comes to decrypting human folly or transcendence . . . The book would have made grim sense through a mental-health lens; instead, it is an indigenous fairy tale . . . The book becomes a study in dysphoria―not precisely the distress of being misgendered but the more nebulous pain of being imprisoned in a physical form, of losing your wraith-like ability to evade categorization . . . There is something self-defeating about trying to trace a self that is defined by indefinability; one achievement of Emezi’s book is to make that paradox feel generously fertile.”―Katy Waldman, New Yorker“Remarkable and daring . . . Poetic and disturbing . . . Rooting Ada’s story in Igbo cosmology forces us to further question our paradigm for what causes mental illness and how it manifests. It causes us to question science and reason.”―Tariro Mzezewa, New York Times “Akwaeke Emezi is a name you will want to remember, because surely it is one you will be hearing again and again . . . A stunning and disorienting story about a broken woman trying to overcome the pain of her human life while straddling ‘the other side’ . . . Freshwater is unlike any novel I have ever read. Its shape-shifting perspective is radical and innovative, twisting the narrative voices like the bones of a python . . . Emezi has not only made a rich contribution to Igbo mythology, she has crafted a novel so unique and fresh, it feels as if the medium has been reinvented.”―Safa Jinje, Toronto Star “Akwaeke Emezi’s bewitching and heart-rending Freshwater is a coming-of-age novel like no other . . . For anyone who has experienced life as a misfit or outcast, this is a resonant rendition . . . For all its sheer invention, Freshwater feels more like an interpretive journey through uncharted territory with an experienced guide. Potent and moving, knowing and strange, this is a powerful and irresistibly unsettling debut.”―David Wright, Seattle Times “A new kind of bildungsroman . . . Probably better called a work of autofiction . . . Freshwater reimagines the genre of psychological self-portrait. Ada suffers the slings and arrows of mental torture more than the average protagonist. She finds a kind of peace, however, in identifying her conflicting and compartmentalized selfhoods as ọgbanje . . . The ọgbanje are so useful precisely because they offer an alternative to metaphor, an alternative to literary device―they bring the marvelous and the near-imaginary to the realm of autofiction.”―Josephine Livingstone, New Republic “Ground-shaking . . . It is a battle for a body and a soul, and the stakes are high.”―Nadja Spiegelman, Paris Review “Akwaeke Emezi . . . is a literary trickster, an Afropolitan who glides between US and Nigerian cultures, mores, and faiths . . . The great trick of this novel is that we want not only peace for Ada, but also for the troubled spirits inhabiting, and one with, her. Reading Emezi’s unfolding integration of fictional forms and modes of thinking―spiritual, analytical, historical, cultural, clinical―you feel like you are witnessing a talented and emotionally astute writer finding her voice(s). Freshwater is a dazzling, problematic debut that promises so much more.”―Rob Spillman, Guernica “Stunning . . . The talk of the literary town . . . Exceptional . . . A novel that sidesteps contemporary fiction’s more obvious beats . . . The story veers into harrowing territory . . . but it’s so imaginative and dreamy and lyrical that a light still shines through.”―David Canfield, Entertainment Weekly “Feels like watching the beginning of something big: [Freshwater] is so shivery, so electric, that the first coherent thought you can put together as you read is that you’re watching a major new talent beginning to carve out a space for herself . . . Freshwater, ultimately, is not a book about giving in to one’s demons, but about living with them. It’s about finding a home within liminal spaces―between genders, between life and death, between god and human―and finding a way to play within them. And Emezi’s voice is enormously playful, playing with the rhythms of sentences and the conflicting and contrasting voices in Ada’s head . . . And she’s just getting started. One of the most exciting things about this book is imagining what Emezi will bring us next.”―Constance Grady, Vox “This debut novel by an Igbo and Tamil writer is an intricately plotted story of fractured identity that signals the arrival of a major talent.”―San Francisco Chronicle “Emezi’s voice is hypnotic and powerful and imaginative, leaving the reader unsure of what in the story is real and what is not . . . It’s a story that will remind you of the importance of reading . . . In a world crammed to the heavens with unnecessary books, this is a book that demands to exist as a book . . . Take a long, slow swim in Freshwater to remind yourself why you love reading in the first place.”―Seattle Review of Books “Nigerian-born author Emezi presents an emotionally charged debut with her novel, Freshwater . . . Emezi’s prose is vibrant and terrifying; she portrays Ada’s tribulations with breathtaking detail. Freshwater is a novel of unforgiving spirituality told in a manner that is sophisticated, precise and elegant.”―IndiePicks Magazine“Freshwater is sheer perfection: sexy, sensual, spiritual, wise. One of the most dazzling debuts I’ve ever read.”―Taiye Selasi, Guardian “Akwaeke Emezi parts the seas of the self in her engrossing debut novel, Freshwater.”―Sloane Crosley, Vanity Fair “Part magical realism, part meditation on mental illness . . . Ada’s struggle provides a thought-provoking and visceral exploration of life with an altered state of mind.”―Harper’s Bazaar “Harrowing yet beautiful . . . Racing through [Freshwater] felt disrespectful―To the gods? To Emezi? To literature itself?―for [it] is the kind of novel that deserves, no, demands immersion and focus. Every sentence left me reeling, every paragraph on the edge of my seat, and every chapter begging for more. I could’ve spent hundreds of pages more in Emezi’s lush creation . . . For a debut novelist, Akwaeke Emezi has successfully pulled off what many longtime writers only dream of doing. It’s an astonishing, haunting, stunning piece of work.”―Tor.com “Ambitious and original . . . Befitting a story about a fractured mind, the style of the novel is unconventional. Not only does Emezi write in multiple voices, but the story also progresses in a nonlinear fashion . . . Brilliant.”―Zyzzyva “Emezi’s tale of Ada’s journey is astonishing.”―Jane Ciabattari, BBC “Powerful . . . readers are sure to hold their breath.”―Bustle “Akwaeke Emezi has a brilliant voice and her perspective, being non-binary, trans, and an ogbanje spirit herself, lends the novel its heart. The story pushes back against the typical Western language and ideas surrounding gender and consciousness, and rejects colonialism’s attempt to delegitimize Nigerian traditions and Igbo spirituality.”―Interview “Far surpasses your average edgy coming-of-age novel . . . A gripping read that deftly achieves what many postmodern books strive for―a discussion and interrogation of the fractured self―in a way that puts its contemporaries to shame. It is clearer, faster, more intimate, and more inventive than many other topically comparative books . . . A remarkable take on human interiority.”―Riveter “Freshwater is the first novel from Akwaeke Emezi, marking the beginning of what will surely be a long, storied career. Strikingly original and impossible to put down, it tracks the life of a Nigerian woman―from birth through to her adulthood unraveling―and will leave you breathless by the very end.”―PopSugar “Akwaeke Emezi’s debut Freshwater is a completely unique novel that explores the fragmented selves of a Nigerian woman named Ada. Narrated from multiple perspectives, Freshwater is a dynamic encounter with selfhood, mental illness and the complex experience of being.”―Culture Trip (UK) “The feat of this novel is Emezi’s language to describe the experience of gods―Freshwater is a true original.”―Globe and Mail “Emezi’s powerful and poetic debut deftly mines the complicated world of mental illness.”―Business Insider “Emezi has established herself as a young writer to watch with an engrossing tale of identity, mental illness and spirituality . . . Emezi’s careful structuring and poetic language provides a pleasing balance to keep us stabilized as we reach toward high planes. Reading Freshwater, then, is akin to letting oneself over to a luminous experience; we are enveloped fully from page one, and leave the novel feeling transformed.”―Iowa Gazette“Lyrical and dazzling . . . an intimate, spiritual, and haunting story; one that feels both unique and relatable in its exploration of identity, coming of age, and living with trauma and mental illness. A stunning, genre-bending debut novel from a brilliant new writer―reading Freshwater is a transportive, otherworldly experience.”―Shondaland “In her mind-blowing debut, Emezi weaves traditional Igbo myth that turns the well-worn narrative of mental illness on its head, and in doing so she has ensured a place on the literary-fiction landscape as a writer to watch . . . Emezi’s brilliance lies not just in her expert handling of the conflicting voices in Ada’s head but in delivering an entirely different perspective on just what it means to go slowly mad. Complex and dark, this novel will simultaneously challenge and reward lovers of literary fiction. A must-read.”―Booklist (starred review) “[A] spiritually lush and tough yet lyrical debut . . . A gorgeous, unsettling look into the human psyche, richly conceived yet accessible to all.”―Library Journal (starred review) “[An] enthralling, metaphysical debut novel . . . Emezi’s talent is undeniable. She brilliantly depicts the conflict raging in the ‘marble room’ of Ada’s psyche, resulting in an impressive debut.”―Publishers Weekly “[A] haunting yet stunning exploration of mental illness grounded in traditional Nigerian spirituality . . . Employing precise and poetic yet accessible prose, Emezi brilliantly crafts distinct voices for each of Ada’s selves and puts them in conversation with each other . . . She balances multiple lands, ethnicities, perspectives and belief systems with the ease of a writer far beyond her age and experience. Freshwater is a brutally beautiful rumination on consciousnesses and belief and a refreshing contribution to our literary landscape.”―BookPage “Akwaeke Emezi’s standout first novel, Freshwater, is a riveting and peculiar variation on coming of age . . . The poetics of Emezi’s prose enhance the mythology she evokes. As enchanting as it is unsettling, Freshwater tickles all six senses. The chorus of voices narrating Ada’s life achieves a remarkable balance between cruel machinations of cavalier deities and deep empathy for the distressed vessel they inhabit . . . dazzling.”―Shelf Awareness “Akwaeke Emezi’s debut, Freshwater, is this silk, a slim novel so rooted in its lineage and yet so bright, putting thoughts together in new ways, crafting a devastating and exuberant work. One almost cannot believe that Emezi is using the words we are used to using, because she transmutes them into a story that, while accessible and often relatable, is entirely its own. She breathes new dimensions into language and story. You would be hard-pressed to find a reader, any reader, who could complete this book and fail to call it a masterpiece.”―Book Reporter “In Emezi’s remarkable debut novel, Freshwater, we enter the lives of our protagonist, starting in Nigeria and ending in the United States. Every page is imbued with radiant prose, and a chorus of poetic voices. With a plot as alive and urgent as it is relatable, Freshwater is also solidly its own, brims with its unique preoccupations. Never before have I read a novel like it―one that speaks to the unification and separation of bodies and souls, the powers or lack thereof of gods and humans, and the long and arduous journey to claiming our many selves, or to setting our many selves free.”―Chinelo Okparanta, author of Under The Udala Trees “With this stunning debut, Akwaeke Emezi has blessed us with nothing less than a masterpiece. Freshwater is a journey of loss and reconciliation, home and heartbreak, and ultimately a survivor’s guide to harmonizing spirit and flesh. Quite simply a gorgeous, elegant, and brutal work of truthtelling. To repeat: A masterpiece.”―Daniel José Older, New York Times bestselling author of The Shadowshaper Cypher series “Wow. The net effect is a feeling of being peeled open, and quickly finding that skinless place to be normal. More than any novel I can remember, it feels utterly present to the place we are in the world.”―Binyavanga Wainaina, author of One Day I Will Write About This Place “Akwaeke Emezi is a major, exhilarating talent.”―NoViolet Bulawayo, Booker-shortlisted author of We Need New Names “What if we were not one person, but three in one body―created by careless gods who forgot to ‘close the gate’? Akwaeke Emezi’s novel, Freshwater, paints a fiercely unique, unforgettable story of identity, mental health and the world beyond ours. This impressive debut is lyrical and well-told.”―Tananarive Due, author of Ghost Summer “A clarion call to those of us who find that our minds are more haunted and complex than that of the status quo. In exquisite, unearthly prose, Akwaeke Emezi renders the ordinary strange and the strange, ordinary―making Freshwater the most stunning debut novel I’ve read in years. An unforgettable literary experience.”―Esmé Weijun Wang, author of The Border of Paradise “Freshwater is one of those dazzling novels that defies these kinds of descriptions. We can gesture to the story―set in Nigeria and America, told by all the selves of its Tamil/Igbo protagonist―but such synthesis fails to convey the magic that awaits its reader. At once fiction and memoir, potent in its spiritual richness and sexual frankness, the text seems not to have been written by but channeled through its brilliant author. This may be Emezi’s debut novel but she is an old―an ancient―storyteller: thrillingly at home in the tradition of griots, poets, seers and seekers.”―Taiye Selasi, author of Ghana Must Go

"The first madness was that we were born, that they stuffed a god into a bag of skin."I've never read anything like this debut novel, and am in awe of its fierceness.Ada is born with an Ogbanje (a godlike Igbo spirit) inside her, and the story begins with the Ogbanje's narration from within her body. At college, Ada is raped by a classmate, prompting Asughara, the most dominant spirit, to take over and shield her from future pain. Ada is aware of Asughara, and the two form a strange symbiotic bond. But Asughara is fueled by anger and bitterness—not only from Ada's trauma, but from Asughara's desire to return to the spirit world. Her idea of "protecting" Ada puts Ada on a dangerous path. Now you can see what I mean when I say I've never read anything like this. Rooted in Igbo mythology, it's a raw and surreal exploration of identity, mental illness and trauma, written in sharp, explosive prose.I loved the experience of reading this book—of bearing witness to something so unique and dark and powerful. I expect this will be one of my favorite reads of 2018.

I like the intimate weave of lyrical, beautiful prose with scintillating imagery, three-dimensional characters that move the story over different planes. Here is a story minted in Igbo mythology, that moves from umuahia to manhattan, Malaysia,Atlanta and back. Only a writer of extraordinary talent can weave a story This rich without losing steam. This is for me a lush multicultural work of art. I recommend it for fans of literary and Transcultural fiction.

Despite its fascinating premise, and its frequently gorgeous language, Freshwater is a book that cannot help but disappoint. Although the first third of the book is vibrant and pulsing, the intricate attention to mythology soon disappears, as does the attention to the nuanced relationship between characters. I cannot give this book more than one star because the last two-thirds of this book is flat, repetitive, and boring--and essentially relies on the f-word to define one of Ada’s personalities. The author is clearly talented, but it seems as this book lacked a good editor. In the Ada of the last two-thirds of the book we have a self-injuring, eating-disordered, suicidal sex-addict--the character becomes paper-thin--a caricature of a woman who has experienced trauma and mental illness. The characters of the last two-thirds of the books are likewise interchangeable, as are Ada and her personalities. The last two-thirds of the book describes sex frequently, but is largely without plot. Though I hope for better from this writer in the future, I have to say that I haven’t read such a poor debut--or frankly, such a poor book--in a long time.

I struggled to get through this book-it was a difficult read. Perhaps if you've ever struggled with mental illness or had multiple personalities you could possible relate to this book? I'm still completely shocked at the books 4 star rating? A lot of the book read to me like an acid trip gone wrong? I would only recommend to not read this book unless you're struggling with multiple personalities. Apparently I am NOT the audience this author was intending her book for.

I tried, I really did. I made several attempts but the book is choppily written and it's impossible to feel engaged with any part of the story or characters.

I don’t think I have ever read a book from the perspective of a character’s other “personalities”. It is very difficult to describe, these aren’t personalities as if they were other people but more like other entities. Excellent reading!

Part poetry, part novel, part philosophical journey. An incredible look at life- the physical and spiritual- and where the worlds collide. This is more than entertainment, it's thought provoking and challenging. I highly recommend the book.

This writing is incredibly beautiful. I FEEL each personality and the choppiness of memory vs time in a brain that is fighting to survive. Complex and layered yet piercingly clear, the chaos of mental illness plays out in a clean marble safe room. Congrats to Akwaeke Emezi on a debut novel that is pure fire!

Flame of Yahweh: Sexuality in the Old Testament, by Richard M. Davidson

From the Back Cover

Flame of Yahweh provides a thorough discussion and perceptive theological understanding of human sexuality and gender as revealed in the Old Testament. Davidson sets before his readers the original intent and continuing ideal of sexual and gender relations as provided in the Scriptures of the OT. The Edenic ideals of human sexuality, love, and relationship are plunged into discord and disharmony, a discord and disharmony as evident on the pages of the Bible as in the daily news. In response to this disarray, Davidson demonstrates how the OT provides a renewed vision of the true and the right. Recognizing the foundational aspects of his comprehensive study for New Testament studies, the author also outlines the implications for the NT understanding of human sexuality and gender that grew out of the OT literature.

This book is a serious academic work (844 pages) setting forth the "biblical foundations for understanding human sexuality." It is the culmination of the author's twenty-five years of in-depth research into the panoply of Old and New Testament Scripture regarding the various manifestations of human sexuality. In the process, Davidson develops the most comprehensive presentation I've ever encountered regarding heterosexual monogamy--"God's original design for sexuality and marriage in the relationship between Adam and Eve...as a pattern for all future sexual relationships." Flame of Yahweh provides normative and epistemological grounding on several ontological/anthropological subjects.Note: This work is built upon the presupposition of biblical inerrancy of the 66 books of Bible--God's *exclusive written* revelation to mankind. If readers of this review are unclear as to what that means or the nature of the epistemological claims, please read Professor Ronald H. Nash's excellent primer, The Word of God and the Mind of Man.Both scholarly and conservative, Professor Davidson provides insight from the original languages (Hebrew, Greek, etc.), from the biblical Canon (Bible), and from ancient Near-Eastern source literature. The book includes and contrasts various alternative theological perspectives (liberal, feminist, postmodern, etc.). Looking back millennia, Davidson's gleaned insights are often profound.Section 1 (80 pages) provides teleological insight into sexuality in the Garden of Eden. Section 2 (462 pages) covers sexuality outside Eden. Section 3, (87 pages) entitled “Return to Eden,” is an in-depth commentary on the OT book: Song of Songs. Section 1 (Chapters 1 & 2) entitled Sexuality in Eden: The Divine Design (Genesis 1-3) are worth the price of the entire book!!Despite my many years as a serious student of Scripture, Flame of Yahweh has given me a deeper understanding of ancient Near Eastern culture as well as extended glimpses into the ontological mysteries of sexuality as God originally designed it. An indispensable resource for counselors and pastor/teachers. For anyone wanting or needing a graduate level, serious in-depth theological, ontological, linguistic, and philosophical exploration of sexuality, this is it!

This is a great book, it goes into a lots of details. Especially about sex in the old & new testament.

The best resource for seminars/sermons and marriage prep/support, I have found on expelling so many unfounded rumors on God's view of human sexuality.

Very thorough and indepth study. Very well documented sources. This is a beast of a book but well worth having as a resource in my library.

This is the most comprehensive overview of how God views the topic of sexuality I've ever come across. Davidson shows how God's design for sex is tied into His nature and His desire that man is to be holy because God is holy. I am writing a Bible study on sex for young adults and this text will be one of my main resources.

Very well written. Thank you.

flame of Yahweh: Sexuality in the Old Testament

This is a comprehensive study of sexuality in the Old Testament, discussing social, legal, ethical, and theological factors. There is an extensive discussion of the interrelationships between various parts of the Old Testament. Davidson starts with Eden as a model for human sexuality, gives a close analysis of the laws in the Torah in light of that experience, and then moves exhaustively into a topic-by-topic discussion of how things functioned in ancient Israel, mining all parts of the Old Testament for whatever light can be shed on the topic, and finally concluding with the Song of Solomon as a model for fulfilled sexual experience. While the primary focus is on the Old Testament, Davidson occasionally addresses the New Testament outlook and discusses application to contemporary ethical questions. Discussions with other theologians are usually carried on in the footnotes, but no less enlightening for all that. This is not a complete Christian theology of sexuality, but it is a necessary building block for any such effort. The book would probably have benefited from a better editing job, as it is frequently somewhat repetitive. This does make it more useful as a reference source, however, as you don't have to read the whole thing to pick up every nuance of the topic you're investigating.Highly recommended for those interested in the history of sexuality, the theology of sexuality, contemporary pastoral issues, gender history, and the social history of ancient Judaism

A Kiss Goodnight

From School Library Journal

K-Gr 4—As a child in Marceline, MI, Walt Disney was inspired by the annual Fourth of July fireworks. Throughout his life, while building his company and creating animated movies, he remembered how those fireworks had felt like "the perfect kiss goodnight," and when he opened Disneyland, he wanted to give every guest that same magical experience. Songwriter Sherman wrote the text, as well as the song on the accompanying CD. Musical notation and lyrics from the song can be found on some pages, though they are not integral to the narrative. The text is brief enough to serve as a read-aloud; however, this title will work best for one-on-one sharing. With a storybook feel, the tale is intentionally vague, and Disney is never referred to by name but rather as "the boy" or "the man." Illustrated by animator Norman in a style familiar to classic Disney animated films, scenes from Disney's day-to-day life are rendered in shades of gray, illuminated by pops and flashes of color when fireworks appear. The story is sweet but not as exciting or dazzling as the pyrotechnics that sparked the idea for the book. VERDICT Purchase only where Disneyphiles abound.—Misti Tidman, Mansfield/Richland County Public Library, OH

If you're like me, the main reason you'll buy this book is to get the recording of Ashley Brown singing the title song written by Richard Sherman. The recording was made to play after Disneyland's 60th anniversary fireworks show, Disneyland Forever. I was blown away the first time I heard it at the park and have been looking forward to owning it ever since. Thank you, Richard Sherman for continuing to write songs that touch the heart through words and melody. Hopefully Disney continues to find projects for new Richard Sherman songs. Disney should have Ashley Brown record a full album of Disney music. She is phenomenal! I've heard her in concert and can't wait to hear her again. The book itself is also very nice. It's really a picture biography of Walt Disney. The text is well written and the illustrations are fun and engaaging. The introductions from Richard Sherman and Floyd Norman at the beginning add a personal connections to Walt Disney.

I love the song and am even more impressed with the story. It is beautifully done.I knew it would be fantastic because it was done by Richard Sherman and Floyd Norman. Floyd Norman's artwork is exquisite. My only complaint is you can't get to the CD without damaging the book our this paper CD sleeve. I want to hear the music but am unwilling to damage the book. I wish i could purchase the CD separately.

Beautifully written and illustrated! My wife and I fell in love with the song while watching the Diamond Celebration fireworks in the park and I just had to get this book for her as a gift. Not disappointed!!!As a tip to those complaining about ruining the book to remove the CD--just pull back the top portion enough to where it tears from the cover. You can then open the flap and remove/put back the CD while leaving the bottom in tact. Since the CD case is still stuck in place, it covers the 2 upper points where it was torn away.

This is meant to be a gift and I'm not sure what I was expecting but what this is was not it. It's a story about Walt that has the lyrics to the song at the bottom of the page. I suppose I was expecting more illustrations that matched the song as the backcover sort of suggested. That being said, from what I glanced at it, it looks well done and I still believe it will make a great gift.

the book was only in a bubble wrap envelope and it was unfortunately damaged in transit. expected and the book cover sleeve was crumpled on one corner because of it. the book itself is darling though, and an added bonus that you get the cd too! i didn’t even realize that when i bought it.

A beautifully illustrated childlike tale about Walt Disney. In the manor of a bedtime story, Richard Sherman tells of Walt's life of setbacks and triumphs with fantastic art by Floyd Norman. It comes with a CD of a song by Richard Sherman, but unfortunately it's stuck to the inside cover in a way that I had to damage the inside cover to retrieve the disc.

This book is about a fictional man named Walter Disney. He made a big castle and some boom booms in the sky. It's a good book if you like books for kids that are short and sweet. I personally like books that are short and sour so it loses one star there on that fact.

Anything by Disney music great Richard Sherman is worth investing time and money into - this is no exception ! Very well done, excellent - and dedicated to his old boss Walt Disney.
