About the Author

Pat Trott was introduced to Armenian needlelace by her mother at a very early age, and this led to her passion for embroidery and stitchery of all kinds. Later, as a skilled embroiderer, she was attracted to Mountmellick because of the numerous different stitches involved, and she went on to become an expert in this unique craft. Pat is a life member of the Embroiderers' Guild and holds regular workshops for many Guild branches, colleges and schools. It's 64 pages, and doesn't really start until page 10. There are patterns on page 45, 51 and 55-63. Clear photos and a few pretty designs. I'm taking off two stars because it's way overpriced for what's there. Need to know how to thread a needle? There's a nice clear photo to show you how. Don't know what scissors look like? You can find it here! Want a nice full-page photo of white thread? Yup! Got it. I already have all of these stitches in other books, and even could have found them on line. I didn't need a full page photo of the author's personal sewing box, but more patterns would have been nice. More actual content would have been better!Come to think of it, three stars might be a tad more than it should get!

I am a beginner to this type of embroidery although I do many different types of embroidery. I think this is an excellant book for those of us that have not been familiar with Mountmellick Embroidery. It gives the history of this form of needlework along with great illiustrations. Gives list of supplies needed as well as what fabric and threads to use. It starts with a smaller simpler project with pattern. Each pattern you would choose would gradually get a little tougher. Quite a few patterns as well as instructions for the fringe. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to get started with Mountmellick Embroidery.

Really good beginners book. A lot of time is spent on the basics and many clear color phototgraphs detailing specific stitches. Very good book if you're interested in Mountmellick embroidery. There are many pattern outlines in the back of the book so creating a project of your very own is easy

This book is a classic. Clear, simple instructions for those wanting to start this type of embroidery I liked the fact that the patterns were modern.

This (and Lewis Lin's other books) have been fundamental to my prep practice as I have interviewed for new roles - being in the startup world, it happens more than you might think! I would recommend this book to anyone looking to join a PM team, whether they were previously a PM or not. His online tools are so useful as well!

The questions are great and inspiring, but the answers.... Don't take them seriously.The best way to use this book is doing mock interview with your peers.

I bought this book to gain "product sense" of the nowadays' tech industry company. Some of the questions in the book are quite interesting, but i'd hope more thorough and insightful explanation.

I don't think you would get a tech job learning from the book, especially in the famous companies. The answers provided in the book are overly simplistic. I think the interviewer expect much better

There are plenty of consulting interview prep books. And there are lots of PM interview prep books.But there are no prep books for tech marketing, tech finance, tech biz dev. Or for ops roles at Apple and Amazon. Or strat roles at Microsoft. Or GM roles at uber.So finally there’s a book that covers all that. 20 sample answers for ops. 25 sample answers for marketing. 12 for finance. And so on.Hallelujah. Because you can’t cookie cutter consulting frameworks into tech disciplines. And PM frameworks can’t swiss army knife for GM, biz dev, tech roles.It kinda sucks that the frameworks aren’t included in the book. Lewis tells us to get his other books. So slight half point minus there.(I do have Rise Above the Noise and Decode and Conquer already. They’re excellent, insightful reads. Super well-written, easy-to-read with a conversational tone. Get ‘em if you haven’t already. Highly recommend. So we’ll round up from 4.5 to 5 stars.)

To use it most effectively, read the question first and work out the problem without first looking at the answer (hide it with a blank piece of paper). Once you solve it, compare it to the answer. The answers themselves are not definitive so by the end of the book, you may surprise yourself and find your answers are better than what the book provided.If you do that in your interview, you will impress your interviewer and get that job!
