Terrible Advice in this book. Obviously the person who has written this book has never seen anyone in status asthmaticus. In fact, I couldn't tell from this book if the author has any healthcare background or education whatsoever. The "information" in this book is superficial and does not even explain what exactly happens during an asthma attack. I've been a respiratory therapist for almost thirty years and had to see if this book had some new kind of miracle cure that I have not heard of, but it doesn't. Instead, it goes into the whole diet thing to cure asthma. Maybe there is a dietary component, but if there is, the author does nothing to convince the reader. There are no studies cited at all. It's like someone cobbled together a couple of magazine articles on the latest diet trends and decided to claim that if someone followed these claims, they would cure their asthma. There isn't a shred of proof presented that any of these claims have any merit at all. Not only is that poor writing, but it could also be extremely dangerous. Mr. Berko, have you EVER tried to resuscitate an asthma victim who goes unresponsive? Well I have, and it's extremely scary because the patient can be talking to you one minute and out the next, and trying to get air into their lungs is incredibly difficult.Also, just from a writing standpoint, this is horrible. I seriously think that someone pasted text from a language other than English into a Google interpretation app and used the outcome. The syntax and sentence structure is off making whatever the author is trying to say even more difficult to decipher.
I have purchased many books from Amazon, this is, by far, the worst. It seems to have been written by a junior high school student who gleaned his information from several magazine articles. The book does not live up to its title at all. Many of the sentences make no grammatical sense and are sloppily edited. Don't waste your money on this book.
This book tries to sell you something at the end to cure your asthma. That gets one star or less from me. All the info. in this book can be found by doing a free search on the internet. Do not waste your dollar.
Another waste - again if you've had asthma for more than 5 minutes you already know all this.
Waste of money. All it said was to eat vegetables and fruits. Nothing about curing it. Book should have had more substance.
This a short, poorly-written, scarcely-edited version of standard advice from those advocating a vegan diet of uncooked veggies, nuts and fruit.

Very helpful book. I personally don't suffer from asthma, but I have family members who do. I was surprised to read about some of the culprits and causes of asthma. I knew that food additives, preservatives, etc. can wreak havoc with health, but I hadn't associated them with breathing issues. This book gives some very helpful tips. It's a concise guide that I found very informative.
