This book is for students/super fans of musical recording legend Barbra Streisand. What is amazing about Paul's book is the detail and orderly fashion for each release along with images that show why they are collectible. The book is THE bible of Barbra's musical releases. With vinyl making a resurgence, especially with younger music fans, here is an organized look at Barbra Streisand's SIX decades of musical genius! I love all the photos and dates and numbers. Clearly a labor of love, Paul has captured everything about Barbra's music. Her career has been spent on ONE label, Columbia and to the casual fan, where to start collecting? Anywhere and you can't go wrong, but if you like the early Barbra, find and listen to those records, or if you are a musical movie buff, start with the soundtracks, or if you are into live, go to the concert lps. I personally love the 45's, especially with pictures sleeves, US and foreign! This book/collector's guide will help you sort it all out! I can't wait to pull out my 40+ year Barbra collection and match the images to my records/cds/sheet music and lps and get them in the proper order! Bravo Paul! You did fellow BJS fans proud and from the note Ms. Streisand wrote YOU, she loves it too! Five star all the way!
Very interesting book for all of us who are fans of Ms. Streisand plus give us a full list of her recoring, real bad that still 2 (2) records from her that still the old Columbia Rescods now Sony don't releasing on CD they are "The owl and the pussycat" and the original soundtrack of "The eyes of Laura Mars" so everyone of the greatest stars complete the collection on CD like I do want it. So I do recommend the precious and one of the kind book to everyone, so thanks to the writer for put this piece of art to all of us.
As a former Barbra Streisand collector of nearly 40 years I believe this book is the holy grail of documentation of Barbra Streisands World wide releases on vinyl albums, CDs,45s and more,what a great guide to have all these thousands of items pictured together in color in one book. If your just starting or have been collecting for a while this is a must have reference guide. A lot of collecting and work went into this guide. 5 stars!
This book is a very detailed account of all Barbra's recordings. I was amazed at all the singles that had been released. Photos of each were great. This is a definite for all die hard Barbra Streisand fans.
