All photos are in color, except for items from actual magazine or paper clippings.Each chapter is devoted to one star and gives a brief biography of the person and then describes items pictured. The memorabilia in this section leans heavily towards dolls, paper dolls, children's books, toys, and products that were marketed to children in the era as opposed to magazines, photos, sheet music, and posters like the grownup stars. Some of the merchandise is quite rare (I had no idea memorabilia on the short careers of Carolyn Lee and Joan Carroll existed). I will be using this with my K-2 kiddos as a way to create a discussion about inference and imagination while still talking about the importance of physical activity. Thank you so much to the authors for writing this book! Can't wait for the next one! :)

My students could NOT stop laughing during this book! As a teacher, I have so many "Back to School" books that I read at the beginning of the year...but a book about P.E. isn't something I have ever run across, and I'm so happy that I did! My students were able to make awesome connections with this book which made for a great read aloud. After reading it aloud, I loved seeing my students pulling it off the shelf to read on their own. I can always hear their little giggles when they read their favorite part, "Cut it out, Billy."

Another great book! My kids loved commenting on whether they have seen their PE teacher do some of the things the PE teacher did in the book. They loved laughing at the PE teacher in the book and my kindergartener commented on what rules he broke!!

I have a feeling I will get some flack for this, but here we go; 4 stars for written content, 2 stars for pictures = 3 stars... The pictures are 'meh'. Now, the subject of the pictures are wonderful, but the quality of the pictures is lacking, IMHO. The information in the book, i.e. the written portion of the book, is not properly complimented by the pictures. If you are someone that is buying this book primarily for the writing, then this book may be for you. But if you are primarily buying this book for the pictures, then you may be let down.Now, I bought this book due to the spectacular reviews on this exact Amazon page. I am disappointed, because it does not live up to the reviews I read. With a little more care in the post-processing of the pictures and shot set-up, it would have been a winner! The price was great, though, so take this review with a grain of salt. Again, it really depends what you want to get out of this book.For me, a lot of the pictures looked washed out. The blacks look gray, and the color saturation is to low. They need to play with the shadows, light, saturation, brightness, contrast, color temperature, etc, to bring out the best in the pictures. I bought 3 books at the same time I bought this book from Amazon, and this one is the only one that has this problem.If the contrast is not done correctly, the light and dark parts of your picture begin to blend together, making hard for your eyes to focus on details, and you lose the depth of your picture. It is NOT a hard thing to fix, if you are willing to take the time to do it. It looks like the photographer just pointed his camera, shot the picture, walked off, and was done. If the cameraman took the time to craft the picture, like the author did in crafting his sentences when writing this book, this book would have been a home run.Another thing, a lot of the pictures are in really bad lighting conditions. For example, why on earth would you take a picture of an absolutely beautiful building from the outside, but the trees adjacent to the building casting a huge shadow over half of the building?! Why didn't the photographer wait till high noon or something like that, where the maximum amount of sunlight was shining on your subject?I am not returning it, because I want to read the book, and the price was spectacular! But I wanted decent pictures as references for drawing/penciling. But due to the the washed out-edness (is that a word?) of the pictures, I find myself gravitating towards the other 2 books I bought at the same time as I bought this one. So, for drawing, this will not be used for that as much. The final thought, I'll include a couple of pictures i took of the pictures-in-the-book using my cell phone, and did quick adjustments with it. And they came out WAAAAYYYY better than the original pictures in the book, to prove a point: If you do some minor adjustments, your pictures just look better. I am NOT a pro photographer,, by any stretch of the imagination. I am just a guy with a Huawei Mate 9 mobile phone that likes pictures.

I haven't finished the book by any means but in skimming through the book (kindle for the PC version) I find the quality of some of the equations to be quite awful. They are small and hard to read and often look smudged. I find this poor quality unacceptable considering the many software solutions available that can improve the graphical rendering of equations.

An awesome volume! Contains seemingly everything a serious student of calculus could want. However it could use a section on the Integral.

The coverage of Trigonometry is really weak. Trig preps you for Calculus. It's also the basis for many of the sciences: chemistry, physics... I wish I could return an e-book.

The content of this book seems very different from whats in my text book. After skimming through this book, i feel even more lost. None of the material in this book looks familiar. To give you an idea as to what i'm talking about; Almost all chapters mention "Cartesian" "Vectors" and "Polar" I dont see any mention of functions or inverse functions, which is what my course (and most updated textbook) is emphasizing on.This seems more like calculas than precalc. I digress.I would not recommend this product.

I was primarily interested in reading Stan's Calculus Know It All but I thought I'd better make sure I was ready for it, and this book was perfect in that department. I knew a lot of this material, but the book brought it all together for me. Stan's always fresh and vivid writing makes this kind of detailed subject very accessible, and as a result I have some new understanding in areas that I knew about, but hadn't quite mastered. Therefore, I recommend the book very highly. When you are done, go through Stan's Amazon listings and you will be amazed at his broad reach -- everything from black holes to microchips, its really amazing. And all very clearly written.

When I first read the book, I almost sent it back. The story line is so-so, and I didn't think the crocodile was all THAT cute. But my 3 year old granddaughter went nuts over it! She grabbed it out of my hand, and went around "chomping" everyone in the house! It kept her entertained for the longest time, so it's a keeper!!

My kids laughed so hard with this book. Nothing beats a toddler and baby with hiccups.

No one buys this sort of book for the "storyline". It's a cute puppet book - both my 18 month old and 4 year old always get a crack out of reading it. You'll get far more mileage out of a book like this compared to other board books. Highly recommended!

The puppet is cute but the story makes no sense. The croc eats one animal but "burps" up 8 animals. When did the croc do this.

It's a puppet book which my kids love but the story is horrible. There's so much room to make this an educational book about being greedy or lying. I have to improvise the whole story line when I read it.

What I thought would be a charming children's book turned out to be a terrible storyline about a crocodile who eats all of his friends... Not at all what I was hoping for in a child's hand puppet book. Do not recommend!

The thesis of this book is "God is a risktaker (he took a risk on you after all, so you should be a risktaker too". So the very thesis and driving principle of the book is heresy, based on a complete misunderstanding of God and denial of omnipotence and omniscience. This is the horrible doctrine of Open Theism packaged with well written prose, to try to sucker in the common Christian to believe a God-diminishing lie. Avoid!

A book and a message that changed my life years ago. It's been sad to read "christians" tear down this message, trying to hyper-critique the ways John shares stories from the Bible or how he speaks to men. Men all over the world found freedom to be themselves in their experience and relationship with God, to begin to actually walk with God, hear His voice and know His heart. I know men all over the U.S. who began to rise up to love their wives, find their calling, engage the lives of their kids, and begin to love the life God has given them and live it well! And thousands of families have also experienced so much good because of this.If you're the type that feels it's your god-given duty to scour the texts of books to find all "the errors" and expose "heresy", I'm sure you can (or already have) gleefully torn away at John's message. But, honestly, I ask, "Really? Why not just become an IRS agent instead?" And, I say, "Get a life." Sincerely, I say, go get a life that worth's living! Stop hiding behind your computer or your pulpit or your religious duties or your secret addictions and find the wide open spaces of life!The message of WAH, both in the book and in the retreats Ransomed Heart put on based on this message was an invitation for me to experience God in ways I never thought possible and to experience life in its fullness in ways I never thought possible. And not only was it an invitation, it was permission to finally live my life. Maybe that doesn't make sense to many, but it was a game-changer for me. After returning from a WAH retreat, my wife literally said to me, "What happened? You even look different." My life will never be the same. Nor will the life of my wife and my children.

I am not surprised there was a lot of negative feedback on the topics expressed in this little book. In these times it is no longer valid to use gender to explain why you may like or dislike certain things. This book is not meant only for the jock, or the outdoorsman. It is meant for the heart that yearns to find ways to express a passion that may seem wrong for a Christian man, and that's really it.There are many opinions on how we should behave, or more recently that we do not behave as men have in the past. It is true we are meant to be adventurous and a bit wild but that is a different thing for each man, not a template- the author was simply expressing it as he himself saw it. It is up to you to find your passion, your wild side, and break free of the life you may mistakenly think is correct as a follower of the Way of God. But there are many different paths, as long as we stay on that straight and narrow one, neither turning to the left or the right- being obedient, faithful. I would say if it doesn't trouble your spirit, go for it! The only opinion that matters is Gods, not mans.I myself do many things that aren't considered manly yet also do things that are over the top! For example, I write poetry, rescue ladybugs, read about decorating and color and style, and tear up over emotional things- I am sentimental, and I try to show empathy to others at all times. I also carry a concealed firearm, practice Tang Soo Do and Krav Maga, and regularly work out with weaponry such as knives and sticks- and I am trying to learn Iado, the Way of drawing and cutting with the katana. I love long walks, but I don't watch sports, and can't tell you anything about any team. I don't bunjee dive or shoot down the rapids or any of that, but I see it as valid. Again, if it doesn't become the end in itself it is all up to that old thing we used to call conviction- the Holy Spirit will tell you it isn't something you should do. It isn't nerds vs. jocks, or the cultured, educated man vs the uneducated manual laborer. (I work in a factory, and that is because I chose to work with my hands after spending half my life working in the Mental Health field.) We are all part of the body- and scripture says no particular part is favored above the other. So embrace your inner wild man and push your boundaries a little bit! For some of us it isn't much or very daring, but it is enough to inspire the soul.

I was hesitate to spend the 8 dollars for these, but they are WORTH every penny! They are all different, none of them are the same! They are somewhat sarcastic but are very cute and a must have for anyone who likes Happy Bunny!! My friends will love to get these this Valentine's Day! I noticed now they are out of stock, but they are worth every penny if you can get your hands on a pack!

...it does not come with envelopes. Only paper that you are to make your own envelopes origami-style. My girls (11 and 9) had a little problem making them, they had to dig out their origami book for some help.But otherwise, the happy bunny pictures and sayings on the cards are sarcastic and hysterical as usual, good for those "boys" :p (yucky) who deserve not so drippingly nice valentines.

My 8 year old had her Valentine's party at school. She had the ones she got from classmates on the kitchen table and this Happy Bunny one saying, "I like you even though you're dumb" was laying there. I picked it up and got sick to my stomach. What parent of a young child would purchase these?!? Granted there is a review on here saying she bought them and didn't realize it. At least she finally realized these aren't appropriate. It seems this classmate's parent or guardian was out to lunch and didn't realize or actually thought they would be funny. Regardless, I'm LIVID! There is NOTHING funny about this for small children....it's degrading and that isn't how we're raising our kids. If it's true that the box said it's for 3+, then the company, Jim Benton need to insist that these be placed in the teen section or adult section. We have enough trouble these days protecting our children from the world outside. Our kids are being bullied, committing suicide, or many have a sense of entitlement and behave how they want. This junk promotes it and it disgusts me! What's wrong with keeping our kids protected as long as possible and when we can, because you can't be with them all the time! You hope that other parents/people do the right thing. I'm not being naive about the world or raising my children, as a mother, I just want them sheltered a little while longer before the world is in their face. As far as rating this, I had to give it one star....so doesn't even deserve that!

These are the worst valentines ever! I can't imagine ANY parent buying them for their children to pass out to other children. "Yucky" boys or not, nobody should get a demeaning valentine. My 4 year old got the "I like you even though you're dumb" one today, and she CAN read. Her face was CRUSHED! There really is no excuse for these Valentines. I can't think of when these would ever be funny... What is wrong with people??? Whether they're supposed to be for adults or not, they're marketed for CHILDREN! Cute colors and a stupid bunny. If they're for adults, then they should be clearly labeled as such, and I shouldn't have to be nervous about her getting another one.

My 8 yr old picked out a box of 34 classroom Valentines (with a cute poster) to distribute to her 2nd grade class. I failed to read the sample Valentine's on the back, assuming they were fine since they were with the Disney, Scooby-doo, etc. While the box says these are for 3+ yrs of age, they have sayings like, "I like you even though you're dumb," or "I just realized I'm cuter than everybody here," and "Looks shouldn't matter but I'm glad they do." These are completely inappropriate for school-age.

i can't help but laugh, reading the book's title gives the first clue these aren't your typical kid valentines. they're hilarious if you hv a sense of humor.. i got them for myself and friends and we all had a good laugh.

To stupid parents not paying attention: THESE ARE NOT FOR YOUR CHILDREN! Start reading the box and stop buying them for 8 year olds, but more than anything, stop blaming the product that you can't be bothered to look at prior to purchasing!
