After reading this book I literally had to put it down and walk away and I’ve had the hardest time writing this review. I want to tell you bits and pieces but not give anything away. So let’s start with your going to meet two men Gabriel and Henry and this book takes place in the 1800’s . You know when gentlemen were gentlemen. I can’t imagine that this book was easy to write because the descriptions that are used are in such a fine detail you can see things before your eyes as you read page by page.The main characters Henry and Gabriel you feel like come to life before you as they meet as young men at Oxford and continue their friendship through midlife. Where they have both been so consumed with their careers to distract from the fact that they are gay at time where it definitely isn’t safe to be and also to where they don’t have to admit how lonely each of them are. While Henry seems to be the one to be more bothered by being older for me it is Gabriel that is the one that has the hardest time coming to terms with the fact that he loves Henry.This book will give you spine tingling twists and turns. It will make you laugh and cry. It may also make you want throw something. You will be taken on a journey I don’t think you will expect and at times you’ll wonder if your even in the same area as he leads you through the back alley ways into a different world. What most I’m sure would call at that time a seedier part of the city where a gentleman would never go. Oh my oh my and I definitely have to say the sexual chemistry in this book is off the chart. From first time lovers to just the raw animal passion that we all have had at some point if we are lucky.So at this time who do I recommend this book too. Anyone who likes a suspense, thriller, gothic romance. Anyone who wants that HEA that has drug you threw the mud and threw everything at you but your still together through it all. Or how about the innocent first moments of falling in love that first time. So I guess I recommend this book to anyone. Go ahead I guarantee you will not be disappointed with one ounce of this book.

Sean Kerr is at the pinnacle of his storytelling talents. I have been a fan of this author since I read his first book: Dead Camp 1. And this author continues to not only NEVER disappoint but to NEVER keep surprising me. Once again he has captivated me with another of his novels.This is a classic tale told with a finesse and flair that only Kerr can deliver. It’s set in the Victorian era and oh the author has captured the language so vibrantly and sets every scene so vividly that I cannot help but be transported. It was a delight to sit down each night to read this story and I did so in short sequences to stretch out the enjoyment of this tale that unfolded with both intrigue and candor.There is not only masterful storytelling there is a genius story. It’s so brilliant and soooo Keen that only Kerr could have done it!

I have been an avid reader of Sean Kerr’s books since I happened upon Dead Camp, the first novel in a 5 book series. His masterful story telling, wit and humour make all Sean’s books wonderfully engrossing reads. The research and attention to historical detail make his stories all the more compelling.The Man Inside Me is a fascinating take on another classic novel and draws the reader in from the very beginning. This book will make you think about love, ageing and some of life’s big questions. It will also have you on the edge of your seat until the final page. If you are a fan of historical novels with some murder and mayhem and a beautiful love story at its heart then this is the book for you. Another gem from a superb story teller.

This, it was not what I was expecting....not that I had a clue what Gothic MM would be like cause honestly, I usually do PNR ones. What can I say? I like the fantastic, the no rules books. But this.....this was utterly compelling.......I couldn't put it down.I'd love to live in the mind of Sean Kerr for a day, well maybe not, have to think on that! It may be more then I can handle hahahaha.But all teasing aside, this was a no put down, have to see what the heck is coming next story! I hope he does more like this.

There aren't enough pretty words to say what this book exudes. From the magnificent writing, the flow of words, to the astounding twist on a novel I grew up with and loved, this book is everything I didn't know could exist. While it is an MM book, it is done in such a masterful way, you don't get side tracked by the romance, which is super hot, by the way. 5 stars for this amazing story.

I downloaded a sample to try it out having never read anything from the author. For the first chapter or two I didn’t know where it was headed but I was intrigued. Let me tell you very soon you get sucked in and won’t be able to stop. The characters are amazing, even the bad ones.You definitely don’t want to miss this one!

I got the 3-hour long CD and now listened a third time. I've wanted off the treadmill to the extent possible. I started implementing the authors' suggestions after my first pass, and then began to use their tools after the second pass. I've become a believer in the Hamster Revolution and now recognize this work as one of the truly great business books of our time. That's why I deleted my first review - so I could increase the number of stars.In my first go-around I immediately felt overly critical due to what I perceived as a self-serving forward by Ken Blanchard. I have nothing against Blanchard and recognize him as an outstanding thinker and corporate trainer; I just don't like it when people writing a forward use it as an opportunity to toot their own horn. In this state of mind, I found the hamster character cutesy. The second time I identified strongly with the hamster. The dialogue made me feel that I'm the hamster. Further, the use of the hamster character turned out to be an ingenious technique because it allowed the authors to teach their lessons in story format. The more I applied the lessons, the more apparent it became that the authors, Mike Song, Vicki Halsey and Tim Burress have a fine 129-page masterpiece here.The first thing I started doing was strengthening my subject lines and sculpting my messages. Anybody can do this once they understand the first simple lesson. Like the hamster, I'm now sending fewer emails. This result did not come just as a matter of receiving and following instructions. There is theory behind the lessons and it seems so simple due to the story presentation. The reader (listener in my case) is made to understand the problem first. The problem is information overload and we all face it.Skipping straight to the last strategy, the authors provide a powerful tool called COTA. This is a system for organizing email folders that works because of the logic behind its simplicity. I feel that it's a spoiler to tell what COTA stands for, but even so, COTA is not so simple that it can be used effectively without understanding the philosophical underpinning. This is the first tier of folders, and one can expect to have further tiers. Further, one should apply this tool to all one's business records, physical and electronic. This includes records in file cabinets, records on company servers, records in employees' My Documents and email folders. In the book, the hamster is advised that it will take about a day to reorganize his files using this tool. But the hamster could not completely do it all in one day. I think nobody can predict how long it will take to implement this tool.The title of the book is inspired. The idea of "revolution" is that those of us using the design and principles will spread the word and create major change. One can imagine managers asking employees to join "the revolution." Those of us using the techniques will be able to recognize each other fairly quickly from the subject headers.Finally, I did not read this book. I listened to the CD. The reader is Oliver Wyman. He has an enormous portfolio of famous books in several genres and is extremely versatile. I wholeheartedly recommend the CD because it flows smoothly and is soothing to the listener. I've also ordered the book because the CD is abridged and I want to make sure not to miss out on anything. This is an enjoyable 3-hour CD set (3 CDs). But let's be honest about something. This is about making work more satisfying. It's about being successful at work. It's about being more productive and therefore more competitive.

The book is easy to read and provides great examples of why email is so costly in terms of time and money. If everyone read the book, email would not be the time trap it is now.I have taken several of the recommendations and started to use them. As I gain proficiency in better tailoring my email, I plan on training my work group on the techniques along with buying them their own copy.One gripe, some of the things mentioned in the book that are supposed to be on the website, I could not find. Otherwise, a good book for all email users.

I like this Dr alot, and his plan is simple and powerful. I got this thinking there might be new material in it, or more expansive material on his 4 steps to health. Honestly I looked up some info in " How To Make Disease Disappear", and word for word was identical. Ugh. Lots of pics of himself in this one. When I 1st watched a video of him I just loved what he had to say and ordered the book. As well as recommended him to many friends I felt needed to hear what he has to say. It is simple, eat colorful whole foods, move, sleep, meditate or pray in my case, and stay off or get unattached to our devices. Great advice. Just don't buy both books. He is very upbeat and caring obviously about his patients and has a great understanding of Dis-ease, different from the majority of PCP's. We all need to follow his advice, but I really gleaned more info that I actually thought about in "How To Make Disease Disappear".

I love Dr. Chatterjee. He is a wonderful Functional Medicine doctor from the UK. (The American version is called “How to Make Diseases Disappear”). He gives excellent advice about how to assess what’s really going on with ailments you’re experiencing by looking at what is going on in all aspects of your life: eating, movement, sleep, rest/relaxation. He gives very practical advice in each “pillar”. Dr. Chatterjee has a good website and podcasts you can listen to as well. I absolutely loved this book.

I read it, and bought two more copies for "healthy" friends who can use his advice. He suggests small, realistic actions to improve your health, and he makes you think through the truth of what you are doing. Worth a read if you wonder why you are always the one catching a little cold that won't go away.

Listened to his pod cast and liked it so much I purchased his books. Read both books and have lent them out to friends. Common sense functional medicine, easy to make changes that will change your life for the best. Highly recommend

Excellent pictures throughout the history of the Southern Railway. The majority of the book examines Southern Rwy post-steam era, but there is a nice chapter about the steam era near the beginning. Would recommend.

This was a gift for my husband. His father was an engineer with the Southern Railway for many years. He started with steam engines and retired riding diesel engines. My husband has many books about the Southern Railway, and hasnt found one book he didnt like. He enjoyed this one and all the pictures in it.

I like this pictorial history of The Southern Railway for the coverage of the company and the insights into passenger conditions in the age of rail travel. It's possible to see, from many of the pictures, something of the role that SR had in Southern business history.

Spoilers are in my review, you have been warned!!!After reading all the reviews, I had big hopes for this book. I couldn't find it in any of the stores so I had to order it online. For the record I'm 29 years old and I find that I enjoy teenage books alot more than adult books.I have a few unanswered questions:1) Who was the mermaid she saw so late at night?2) Why was Lynn so against her going to the North side and hiding Mermaid Park from her? You'd think that she'd certainly tell her about the towns greatest attraction. So that lead me to believe that Lynn NEW about Skip.The book started off great, build up of characters, our girl is the classic spoiled teenager that is used to getting her way. She also has to deal with a stepdad that has no respect for her, thus she has no respect for him. I believe that if a parent or an adult wants respect from their child, they are to respect them in return. I don't think it's fair that your parent can sit there and cuss and yell at you all day long and all you can do is take it. They TEACH us to act this way... sorry getting off topic, I grew up with a strict stepmother and an abusive dad. Moving on. The build up of Dylan and her relationship was great, it reached the climax and just... dropped. I don't mean fell down slowly, it DROPPED. One min she was so into this guy, build up, build up, I do mean ALOT of build up, and BOOM, she gets him to kiss her and the very next day she goes "oh wow.. his ears are to big". And she suddenly doesn't like him anymore. Her obsession with becoming an actor in the Mermaid act was exhausting.I found the scene where she fell threw the window, or pushed through it with her hand, a little had to believe.I find.. the secret... I just don't get people like her mom. She keeps this huge secret about Amy being the daughter of another guy, finding out that Bruce was really her grandpa. How the heck is a teenager supposed to respect or trust their parent after this? Maybe I'm being to harsh.Overall, the book was so so. It reminded me of a time when I was a teenager and my family took me to a show just like this. Underwater mermaids and men swimming around, breathing threw tubes and so forth. I really don't believe that she learned anything, maybe to be more nicer? It would seem her sister learned more than our main girl did.I have 1 sister that's still a teenager and I can already say she wouldn't care much for this book, course right now, it's all about the vampires. But for other teenagers, I'd say give it a go. It's not a romance, it may have built up into one but dies, completely dies in the middle of it. The book is more about her obsession with Mermaid Park then anything.

When I got my kindle fire HD at Christmas, I looked at so many books and this book stood out. I got this book thinking that it was a silly book. Then I started to read Mermaid Park and realized that it is so much more than that. It's a story of a life that I would have loved to live. A perfect summer fantasy.

Both my daughter (age 12) and I enjoyed this book. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, which means it was actually better. It includes good characters, not all likeable, but important to the storyline and did a good job of including realistic personality conflicts without going overboard.

Sixteen year old Amy finally catches a lucky break when she gets to spend the summer on the Jersey Shore with her mom's godmother who owns a seaside motel. That's when her road to self discovery and adventures begin. Amy is just your run-of-the-mill teenager who is far from Miss Popular at her high school. She has a brat for a younger sister, a nagging mother and a difficult new step-dad who is constantly bullying her. Thrilled to get away from it all, she busies herself searching for work. She stumbles across Mermaid Park which is an underwater display headlining teenaged girls in breathtaking mermaid costumes. Being a champion swimmer herself, Amy is immediately drawn and stops at nothing to become one of the "mermaids". As she tries to weasel her way into the show and squash her fear of the 36-foot deep tank, she discovers romance, inner strength and unearths secrets about her family which were covered up for years. Readers will identify with Amy's battle to become more self confident and find it a truly pleasing summer read. This coming of age story is one not to be missed!

3.5 starsMermaid Park is a story about Amy, a teenage girl who is sick of her family. Her mother never listens to her, her sister is a big phony and her stepdad is, well, a big jerk. She goes to vacation with her family at Jersey Shore. She ends up staying for the summer with her godmother and works at the Mermaid Park, where mermaids perform underwater in a huge tank.This is a coming of age story. We see Amy discover herself and learn to deal with the people around her. Even though this book isn't what I expected, I enjoyed it. Amy reminded me of some of the things I went through as a teenager. I think we all feel like the world is out to get us at sixteen, at least I did.I was dissapointed by the romance. It set it up in the beginning for romance, but it fell short in the story. But like I said, this is a coming of age story. Amy can't be sure of someone if she is not sure of herself. The mermaid park is what makes this story. Dressing up as a mermaid and performing underwater in a huge tank is like the all time little girl dream job. The Jersey Shore was a fun setting to read about. I felt like a was on vacation again with my family while reading this. This is a great beach read, or a read when you are wishing for warm weather.

At first I was concerned about the geographical inconsistencies stated by another reviewer. Wildwood's bridge is actually a four-lane affair instead of two? The veracity of every book on my shelf was called into question. Can anything be real? Does this mean there's no Narnia? No Swiss Family Robinson? No -- gulp -- Winnie the Pooh?Then I realized it's just a novel - this kind of gaffe would be notable in a AAA guide, but in a fiction story? Please."Mermaid Park" is a fast and pleasant read, full of fun characters and delightful twists. The lead character, Amy, is an excellent model for girls her age, struggling with romance, family issues, and her sense of self - and learning along the way that she's not perfect. Her time with the mermaids goes from fantasy to reality and back again, providing a fun journey for the reader while it propels the story forward. Girls in their tween to teen years will enjoy Amy's story and learn some valuable lessons. Readers of all ages will have a fun time visiting Mermaid Park.

This book is pretty well organized. Are explained all possible escenarios, with its agents. Is explained also the role of each network layer. There are examples for a better understanding. It is very-easy-to-follow book by someone with networking knowledges.
